Yes, Microsoft has ignored those settings on some machines, but using all the tricks – even setting Pro machines to metered connection – it seems to block the forced march.

Microsoft has vowed that it’s stop doling out security patches for Windows 10 1703 the following – although it isn’t clear that the flow stop with the first (buggy?) round of cumulative updates, or perhaps the bugs is bad enough that Microsoft would be shamed into releasing the moment or third round of 1703 cumulative updates in October.

Those who are still using 1703 needs to decide next month whether we’re able to jump to 1709, 1803, or maybe even 1809. But that’s a determination for another day.
